April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, so we’re connecting our community to vital services and strategies all month long.
For many survivors of sexual assault, a forensic examination is an important step on the path towards healing. These examinations gather specific details of the assault, assess your body for injuries, collect forensic evidence, and provide post assault medications and resources.
Forensic exams are free of charge in WA state and a police report is not required to have the exam. Evidence collected will be stored for 20 years without a report to law enforcement, allowing victims/survivors time to decide who they would like to proceed.
